Sledgehammer was formed in late 2007 by Jim Schultz and Rob Knox as a side project to their full-time gigs in two other very popular Pittsburgh bands.  The premise of what was to be later dubbed "Sledgehammer" was to play all 80's hits.  It wasn't long before another veteran of the Pittsburgh music scene, guitarist Steve Jackson, was added to the roster, and the band began to take shape.  In 2008, the band added Pat Duff on bass rounding out Sledgehammer's line up of premier Pittsburgh musicians.  Sledgehammer can now be found throughout the Pittsburgh area delivering 80's chart-topping hit music from acts such as Men At Work, Duran Duran, ZZ Top, Bon Jovi, Wang Chung, The Romantics, Michael Jackson, Rick Springfield, and Peter Gabriel just to name a few.
